Nutty Holiday Snack Mix Recipe with Smoothie King

If you follow me on social media, you probably already know that I'm a Smoothie King ambassador. Grabbing a smoothie at my nearest drive-thru has been the most convenient thing for me this year. Many mornings leaving the house without breakfast have been saved thanks to Smoothie King!

Every once in a while, I'll grab a snack to go with my smoothies when I'm on the go. Snack bars and nuts are usually my go-to, so I wanted to share this Nutty Holiday Snack Mix recipe that was shared with me for the holidays. I was a little skeptical before trying it, but it is really very tasty and makes a great gift for the health-conscious friend on your list. I couldn't stop eating my batch! You can even give the gift that keeps on giving so they can make their own nut mix and grab a sweet treat -- a Smoothie King gift card. 😋

What To Do:

  1. Mix the 3 bags of Smoothie King Mixed Nuts in a mixing bowl with the olive oil, brown sugar, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper.
  2. Evenly layer mixed nuts on a baking sheet.
  3. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of sea salt on top of the nuts.
  4. Bake (convection) in the oven for 12-15 minutes at 350 degrees.

  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar

Wait for the snack mix to completely cool and add them to a decorative gift tin or cello treat bag. You can multiply or decrease the measurements depending on how much you want to make. Share your Nutty Holiday Snack Mix with a friend, the entire office...or cozy up and munch on it all by yourself. The choice is yours!

DISH | Quick Fix Toaster Oven Pizza for College Students

A few weeks ago, I stopped by Target and they had this Black + Decker toaster oven on sale. I even popped open my Cartwheel app (if you're not using it, you're not winning) and saved an additional 15 percent! If you're living in a dorm, you might not be able to have a toaster oven for safety reasons, but this will work in the community kitchen oven as well (just use a cookie sheet). I'm always ordering pizza, but it can be less expensive in the long run to just create your own. Plus, it's a great way to bond with your roommate while doing something fun! It's super simple and you can add any toppings you want. This was my very first toaster oven, so I'm still learning how to use it...but I think I did pretty good for the first time!

  • 2-pack Archer Farms Thin Square Pizza Crust (one for you, one for your roommate...or both for you if you live alone)

  • Classico Traditional Pizza Sauce

  • Market Pantry finely shredded Mozzarella + Parmesan (easier for melting)

  • Hormel Original pepperoni

  • Mama Francesca Parmesan + Red Pepper

  • Fresh Basil (found in refrigerated produce)

Grand Total: $20 (that's only $10 for each of you!)

Pop, fizz, clink! I skipped the soda and poured myself a cold glass of IZZE Sparkling Blackberry. Sit down with your roommate or friends and enjoy the pizzas you made while they're nice and hot!

Buon appetito!
