Apartment Style File: Japanese Blossom + Mirrored Chevron

This isn't exactly related to my personal style or beauty, but before 2015 began I said I would be sharing how I furnish my new apartment. I'm dedicating this year to making my place reflect my personal style and become a place of inspiration since this is where I spend most of my time during the day. Coming from a previous roommate situation, I'm extremely eager to make this place my own and suitable for entertaining friends for dinners and parties! One of my favorite places to shop for apartment décor is TJ Maxx + Home Goods -- it fits my budget the best without sacrificing style. From time to time (probably more often), I'll be posting photos to show how I piece new items together!

Here's this week's items:

We'll talk about the amazing rug I bought later. I've been searching literally EVERYWHERE for Kate Spade plates to add to my table setup and I finally found a set of 4 'Japanese Blossom' plates ($15.00 on yellow-tag clearance)! I also found another 'Live Colorfully' mug ($10.00 on red-tag clearance) -- I Instagrammed my green one a few weeks ago. Can't wait to show how I style my table with these!

Before I added this chevron tray to the mix, my jewelry was just lying across the hatch of my desk which was probably the worst place for it. I found this mirrored chevron tray ($14.99 regular discounted price) and had to get it! I also added a few flameless candles ($6.00, yellow-tag) and placed the tray on this gold fiberboard placemat ($2.00, yellow-tag).

I can't wait to show how I incorporate the rug into my living room set-up soon! Stay tuned!
