The Makeup Show Dallas 2016 | Back in the Beautysphere
In its third year, The Makeup Show has become highly anticipated by beauty industry students and professionals. It's the only time each year that so many large beauty brands are accessible as a one-stop shop. Some of the greatest names in the industry host workshops and are at the booths to personally interact with creatives of all ages, genders, races, nationalities, and sexual orientations. It's truly an inspiring weekend that has thrust me further and further into the world of beauty each year. I always walk away learning something new whether it's being introduced to a new brand or learning new makeup tricks that make being a beauty blogger a thousand times easier.
Aside from restocking my collection with stellar pro discounts, I think my favorite part of the weekend is interacting with the brand representatives and learning which products they used for their looks. I actually got some excellent tips when I stopped by the Kat Von D booth. The Makeup Show is like a beauty safe space -- you can wear as much or as little makeup as you choose and no one will judge you.
Spotlight | Kat Von D Beauty Joins The Makeup Show Dallas
Each year, new brands join the Dallas show. Whether national or indie, they're always welcome with open arms. Beauty students and professionals lined up to place their orders from Kat Von D's edgy beauty line. The coveted highly pigmented liquid lipsticks and eyeshadows were amongst the selection as well as full-coverage complexion options including the new Lock-It foundation. Knowledgeable representatives helped beauty-goers narrow down their options giving major modern Wednesday Adams vibes. It was amazing. Retail prices were discounted for pros and special bundles were also offered. I managed to finally get my hands on the gorgeous 'Raw Power' Metal Crush Eyeshadow which is always sold out at Sephora.
Official Sponsor GLAMCOR lights up the Show
Perhaps my attention wasn't on lighting last year, but I noticed that there were GLAMCOR lights everywhere in the show room. Several of the booths I visited had the luminous lights creating a continuous glow that any beauty professional would appreciate. These adjustable lights allow you to take high quality photos under the best color temperature. Selfies were highly encouraged and absolutely not frowned upon here. Check out the photo I took with Danessa Myricks on day two of the show below!
