If you're anything like my boyfriend and I, daytime dates are quite normal. They are also probably some of the most fun dates you can experience! With Valentine's Day just around the corner, I wanted to show how I achieve a flirty and playful daytime date look that you can try, too. Essence cosmetics is all about personality! Fun-loving and confident looks are everything the brand stands for.
While new to Target, Essence cosmetics isn't exactly new to the beauty game. They blossomed in 2001 across the pond in Germany and quickly became a loved beauty brand internationally. Fast forward to their 2007 debut in the United States, and they've been an enthusiast favorite ever since. Now, I'm happy to share that Essence cosmetics is now available in over 500 select Target locations nationwide -- this is huge! The full range is shoppable with products ranging from 3 major beauty categories: lip, nail, and eyes. They can be found easily on the beauty aisle amongst some of your favorites!
Start with a Complete Complexion
To focus on the fun parts of the look, I've completed my complexion makeup already. This includes any concealer, foundation, primers and, of course, eyebrows.
Step 1: Neutral Eyeshadow + Winged Liner
For this step, I brushed a grey-mauve eyeshadow from the All About Roses palette across my lids with a flat eyeshadow brush. You can build the intensity by applying additional product in a "patting" motion. I added my usual winged liner for a sharp contrast. Plus, when is winged liner not fun?
Step 2: Pink Flushed Cheeks
Next, I swiped the deepest pigment from the Blush Up compact to create a natural flush of pink along my cheekbone. Make sure you smile so you can see the apples of your cheeks for the best positioning. Want a more pigmented blush? Apply another swipe!
Step 3: Extremely Voluminous Lashes (on falsies)
I've been obsessed with falsies lately, so I'm definitely wearing a pair with my look. Whether you choose to wear falsies or go au natural, the I Love Extreme mascara will help you achieve full lashes. You'll also want to apply mascara to help blend your natural lashes with your falsies. See how seamless mine are in the next step!
Step 4: Bold, Hot Pink Lips
Go bold or go home! If you're not into bold lips you can always go neutral, but you should definitely play up your lips with a flirty hot pink that really looks gorgeous on anyone. Try two coats of the 'Blush My Lips' Longlasting Lipstick. Seriously, it will last all day.
The Final Look
Now you're ready for your daytime date! If you don't have a date, this look is also perfect for a fun Valentine's Day with girlfriends, too. Go shopping, have brunch, or go painting together. No matter what you decide to do, always remember to: have fun, be confident, and show off your fabulous personality!
