Mercat Bistro has been on my list of must-try brunch spots for quite a few months now. Based on the Instagram photos I saw, it looked so cute with its French patio and menu. You can sit down for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or just some light pastries and coffee over casual conversation. Whatever you're in the mood for, it's the perfect spot.
I met a friend here a few weekends ago for brunch while I was working on a story featuring some of the hottest brunch spots in Dallas and even the porcelain plates are adorable. They're intricately beautifully designed and look like they could be passed down a few generations. I ordered a cup of English breakfast tea and our waiter brought a full box of Harney & Sons tea to choose from. They even had my favorite, Chamomile, but I stuck to English breakfast which is amazing if you've never tried it. 👌🏾
On certain Saturdays during the summer, they featured a different DJ as apart of their Summer Soirée series. While we waited for our food to arrive, there was a DJ duo spinning beats and mixes. It's not your typical bougie, ritzy setting, so don't be intimidated -- lots of young people just enjoying their Saturday. I couldn't decide whether to order a crêpe or the quiche lorraine. After having the waiter give us "a few more moments", I finally decided on the quiche.
I was hoping the quiche would have the meat throughout, but I should have asked. It great, just not how I prefer it. However, the pieces were quite chunky which I liked. Next time I'll order a crêpe instead.
Overall, I love the atmosphere here. It's a beautiful space that I would absolutely recommend to anyone who wants a pretty brunch spot. You don't have to worry about parking here -- there's complimentary valet for Mercat Bistro and Saint Ann since they're next door to each other. The food and service were both great, and the menu items have a little something for everyone's tastebuds.
