Stylish Office Space for Beauty Lovers
This post is sponsored by At Home; however, I had 100% creative freedom and hope you enjoy!
Now that I'm full-time blogging, I thought it was only right that I finish my "office" space this month. An organized and well-decorated desk will make you feel so much better about working! While I don't have the typical office supplies, I can still create a chic work area in my apartment with all of my everyday inspiration (makeup and hair products) around me.
I found tons of desk and office pieces at my local At Home store that were super affordable! When I decorate, I absolutely love playing with texture, so I had a blast mixing the décor. Check out the pieces I added for some office decorating tips!
Anything mid-century and slightly glam catches my attention, so I chose this teal tufted ottoman (there was also yellow) to place a few of my favorite hardback beauty and fashion books. It also makes great extra seating for when guests come over.
Decor Tip: If you're a little edgy-chic, skulls make a fabulous topper for a stack of books. With Halloween coming up, you can find similar ones right now at your local At Home store.
Decorative & Embellished Pillows
Naked desk chairs can be pretty boring. Plus, who says decorative pillows can't belong in the office? Add one or two decorative pillows to your creative thrown! At Home has several beaded pillows that will add a luxurious texture to your look. Yellow is consistent in my home decor, so the one I picked helps my office space flow with the rest of the room. I also paired it with a gold printed geo-stone pillow. Don't be afraid to mix it up! Every piece you have doesn't need to be so matchy-matchy.
Since I mostly write about beauty and my desk is typically where I take photos and video, it only makes sense for my pencil holders to consist of makeup brushes and liners! I don't like matching sets of desk supplies, so I definitely wanted to explore texture here with the gold wire and smooth, glossy white.
White Faux Fur Rug
It seems like every blogger or chic home decorator has a white faux fur rug! I love taking Instagram photos on pretty rugs and this one was perfect. Otherwise, this is the permanent spot for my ring light for photos and videos rather than having it on the plain carpet.
Vases & Little Boxes
This area is where my beauty library is stored, but I wanted to spruce it up a bit. At Home had these cute little embellished boxes (pack of 3) which can store anything from bobby pins to rubber bands.
Decor Tip: Fill in any large empty spaces on a table or shelf with a floral arrangement. I chose a smooth and solid slate grey to allow my hydrangeas and my embellished box stand out more.
Clock as Floor Decor
With the popularity of cell phones and smartwatches, who really uses clocks anymore, right? Just because we don't use them as much doesn't mean they can't still be used as decor. I like breaking rules when it comes to style, beauty, decor...anything. At the base of my leaning wall mirror, I've placed a wall clock.
Here's the overall look! Now I have my very own at-home office space in a way that make sense to my lifestyle. If you're a makeup enthusiast and have ever gushed over those lavish YouTube guru beauty rooms OR you simply want a prettier desk, use some of these ideas to create your own space!
