Breakouts are no joke and when we see them coming, we want to get rid of them ASAP. I typically only break out once a month and it's usually when my Aunt Flo is on the way, but last month the breakouts were the worst I've had in a very long time. Since I'd just received the Peter Thomas Roth Acne-Clear Invisible Dots, I was hopeful that the constellation popping up all over my face would quickly vanish. The invisible dots actually contain tea tree oil which is supposed to be an awesome ingredient for getting rid of breakouts. However, that was not the case.
I adhered a few of the clear dots to my freshly cleansed problem areas and left them on overnight, but when I woke up in the morning I didn't see too much of a difference after removing them. I was a little confused because I was expecting to see immediate results, so I tried them for a few more nights and began to see just a little bit more of a difference. I did appreciate that they were weren't shiny so when I needed to run an errand, people couldn't see shiny stickers on my face! A few weeks later I gave a sheet of the dots to my best friend to try out -- I was curious to hear how they worked for her. She later told me that they worked pretty much the same way for her, too.
I remember recommending Peter Thomas Roth to my customers all the time back in my Sephora days, so I was kind of disappointed that these didn't work the way I expected them to. I've tried drying lotions as a spot treatment before and absolutely love that they work overnight to get rid of the redness and significantly reduce a breakout -- those are life-savers. Perhaps I was expecting the wrong results for this product, but I would love if Peter Thomas Roth had a drying lotion formula!
Would I recommend these? Absolutely, because all skin is different! Just because a skincare product didn't work for me, it doesn't mean that it can't work for someone else. While I received this product courtesy of Peter Thomas Roth, I would recommend purchasing the travel size of 24 invisible dots for $12 to see if they actually works for you. If they do, graduate to the 72 dots for $30.
